April 18 - 22, 2011

Good Friday Holiday----- Friday, April 22nd.

Reading, Spelling, and Language Tests will be on Thursday, April 21st.


***HELP!  We are almost out of Kleenex tissues, paper towels, and pencils.  We are completely out of Clorox or Lysol wipes… Can you help us during the last weeks of school?  Thank you SO much!!

**LAST DAY FOR CHECKS AT CES IS APRIL 21st!! Cash only after that date, please.

**If you would be willing to help with ink cartridges for the classroom printer, the number for black and tricolor is HP 901. Thank you for always helping our classroom!

FIELD TRIPS:
*April 20th---Fieldtrip to Ace Bowling (GOTCHA reward party!) 9:00 - 2:00.
*Parents will drive and meet us there. If your child rides the bus to Ace Bowling, he or she will ride back with us. If you want your child to ride in your car to meet us, then your child must be signed out in the office and becomes "yours' for the rest of the day! :^)

*April 29th -- Fieldtrip to Airport Road Intermediate to visit 3rd grade and tour the school. Free!
Parents may drive to the school and meet us to tour with your child.  Approximate time:  8:15 - 9:15 a.m.

*Yearbooks are still available for purchase!  $18.00


Student of the Week:  Erica Langford

**READING/SPELLING  Story for this week is "Just Like Josh Gibson."  Today is Day Three.  Read your story and prepare for online Selection test THURSDAY.

Practice Spelling words.... Write words 4 times each every night.  Spelling Test is THURSDAY.

DAY THREE - Monday:  Read story at home tonight, and remember to practice Spelling words.

DAY FOUR - Tuesday:   Prepare for reading and spelling tests on Thursday!
DAY FIVE - THURSDAY:  Online selection, Spelling, and Language Tests today.

All students are to read AR books at home with an adult, every night!

**LANGUAGE/HANDWRITING
We are learning about the importance of capitalization.

**MATH
Students will focus on different techniques, tools and formulas for measuring.

**Fact drill this nine weeks is 100 subtraction facts, 5 minutes. Again, the best out of nine tests will be counted. PLEASE make copies of the one I sent home for practice. It works!

**SOCIAL SCIENCE:

Students are learning about the importance of goods and services, and why everyone needs an education and good job.
