*READING/SPELLING
Students will read the story, "A Birthday Basket for Tia." We are learning more about drawing conclusions. Spelling words this week end in -tion and -ture.
**IMPORTANT SPELLING INFORMATION: Remember to write spelling words every night. Refer to the section for each week that tells you how to plan sentences 4 and 5 for the dictation portion. This sheet GIVES you the directions for practicing those two sentences all week long!
READ your AR book at home with an adult every night! Some students are not taking their AR books home at night even when reminded....
**LANGUAGE/HANDWRITING Students will continue learning about correct capitalization, compound sentences, and rearranging sentences this week.
**MATH: Students are studying measurement in inches, feet, yards, centimeters and meters. Students are discovering through investigation~~~ WHY must we all use the same method of measurement? We are learning about different types of graphs, too.
*We are practicing subtraction facts (1 minute every day, Monday through Friday). Your child will grade his or her own paper. That timed drill sheet will be brought home to you to keep on Friday.
**SOCIAL SCIENCE
Our study of living and nonliving things, with emphasis on birds and reptiles, continues this week. "Animal Projects" were absolutely awesome! I'm so proud of your work :)
