We've received one large bag of M&Ms. We still need one more large bag of PLAIN (red, yellow, green, etc.) M&M's. Thank you so much! We want to use these for graphing in math.
**Field Trip to ARIS ~ Third Grade ~ will be on the 30th. All students have return the permission forms sent home by Mrs. Bush. Parents may MEET us at the school for this visit. Our assigned time is 9:20 to 10:30.
*STUDENT OF THE WEEK:
*READING/SPELLING
Students will read the story, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit." We are identifying the character, setting, and plot of this story. Spelling words this week are Math Words. Students are making a Peter Rabbit booklet, and will color, paste, and make puppets for a theater activity! :)
READ your AR book at home with an adult every night! This will be your last chance to earn enough points and have a 90% average to attend the AR Party!
AR BOOKS will be turned in on Friday, May 9th.
**LANGUAGE/HANDWRITING Students will focus on expanding and rearranging sentences, syllabication, and capitalization this week.
**MATH: Students are learning about different types of graphs (Line plots, line graphs, bar graphs, picture graphs.) *We are practicing subtraction facts 0 - 20 (3 minute drill). Next lessons will include arrays (equal rows/groups) and multiplication facts by 2, 5, and 10.
**SOCIAL SCIENCE
Our study of reptiles, amphibians, and fish will be completed this week. During the story, "Peter Rabbit," students will learn about being good citizens. We will discuss the differences between rules and laws.
