December 3 - 7, 2012


NEWS FOR PARENTS:

Our class needs your help.... We have used nearly all of the Kleenex, paper towels, Clorox/Lysol wipes, and wide-ruled notebook paper you sent in August!  Please keep us in mind as you go to the store.  Thank you so much!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS!

We will release for Christmas Break at 12:30 on December 21st.  Mrs. Goodin has added this information to our Facebook page and she has also sent a school wide email.


Penguin Patch Holiday Shoppe will be open Dec. 17th - 21st.  Students have brought letters home explaining how they can purchase gifts!

LESSONS FOR THIS WEEK: 


Math: We will subtract two digit numbers, with and without regrouping.  Please practice subtraction facts at home!  


Reading:  Story for this week is "Dear Juno."  Read this story at home with an adult every night.  Also make sure students are reading AR books at home with an adult.  

Spelling: Students will practice new words every night!  Parents, please give a practice spelling test on Thursday night.

Grammar: We will continue to learn about verbs, focusing on verbs with singular and plural nouns.

Social Science:  Students will learn about Native American cultures this week.  We are making Buffalo Skin art, and a totem pole.  Our focus will be on Southwest, Plains, Northwest, Southeast, and Northeastern Native American groups.
