NEWS FOR PARENTS:

Our class needs your help.... We have used nearly all of the Kleenex, paper towels, Clorox/Lysol wipes, and wide-ruled notebook paper you sent in August!  Please keep us in mind as you go to the store.  Thank you so much!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS!

We will release for Christmas Break at 12:30 on December 21st.  Mrs. Goodin has added this information to our Facebook page and she has also sent a school wide email.


Penguin Patch Holiday Shoppe will be open Dec. 17th - 21st.  Students have brought letters home explaining how they can purchase gifts!

NEWS FOR PARENTS:

We have been asked to remind you that car riders MUST be picked up by 3:05 in the afternoon.  Children not picked up will be walked into the office and you will need to get them there. Thank you for being prompt!

**Sign and return the bottom of the "Subtraction" letter!  We are subtracting two 2-digit numbers this week, with regrouping at the end of this week and the next.  The following week will be subtracting 3-digit numbers!  Copy the basic facts practice sheet I sent home with the letter.  Use the websites I recommended that are on the right side of this page.  Practicing at home makes all the difference!

We have been asked to remind you that checkout time in the office is 2:15 p.m.  After that time, you must wait in the car rider line.  Also remember that students MUST have a written note in order to change transportation.  The large number of phone calls are becoming a problem.  You may FAX your request to change transportation.  Planning ahead is crucial.  We need your help with these things and appreciate your kindness in remembering!

LESSONS FOR THIS WEEK: 

Math: We will add two-digit numbers, with and without regrouping, and will begin adding THREE two-digit numbers.

Reading:   This week we will review and complete Unit Two test.

Spelling:  No Spelling homework, but you DO NEED TO REVIEW WORDS FROM THE LAST UNIT! 

Grammar:  Review and complete Unit Two test.

Social Science:  Students will learn about the lives of early colonists~~~Pilgrims and the Mayflower.

Thursday, November 8th----PTA/Math Night!  6:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Blue Pods will perform, and then we will move into classrooms for Math Activities.  PLEASE sign and return bottom of the yellow sheet we sent home to you.  We must have an idea of how many children will perform and number of parents attending.  Thank you!

Monday, November 12th----Veteran's Day!  No School!  Hug a Veteran and tell him or her how much you appreciate the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy.

Spelling Information----Please make sure your child is writing Spelling words four times every night!  Many students are not practicing at home.   This is not an option, but a responsibility.
