NEWS FOR PARENTS:
Classroom Needs: Thank you for supporting us all year long. Here are a few things we need in order to make it to the end of the year, especially during cleanup! Please consider sending these:
**Lysol or Clorox wipes
**Lysol Spray
**Windex Spray
DIBELS testing was an awesome success! Students, don't quit reading now... Keep it up during the summer, because your goal next August is 90 words per minute. You can do it again!
**HONORS DAY for 2nd grade Blue pod is scheduled for Friday, May 25th. We will have brunch in our room at 10:00, and the Honors Day program in the gym from 11:00 - 11:45. Information regarding our special day came home to you last week. Please send/bring requested food items that morning. You will want to come to brunch first at 10:15, and then move to the gym before 11:00 to get a good seat :^)
**I will have a "Check Out" sheet in my classroom. Your child may leave with you after the program, if you choose.
**Our last day of school is May 31st. We will load cars and buses at 12:30 that day. IF you decide that your child will miss any days at the end of school, or if you would like to have the report card mailed to your home, please send me a note AND a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Report Cards will be available the last day of school.
Student of the Week: Gracie
LANGUAGE ARTS: This week we will enjoy reading and comparing different Fairy Tales! These will include The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, and Cinderella.
MATH: Students are continuing to learn about multiplication facts. We are taking our Quarter Benchmark and Cumulative Review math tests this week!
Students will continue to review Math skills... All facts, adding and subtracting two and three digit numbers, graphs and charts, telling time, counting money, and intro to multiplication.
SOCIAL SCIENCE: "Manners of the Heart" ~~Students will learn about caring for others, how to treat friends and family, and what it means to have good manners.
