**NEWS FOR PARENTS


*Students must be in the classroom before the tardy bell rings at 8:00!  We are doing so much better.


*Remember to put your child’s name, “E. Boyer” and lunch number on checks. Send ALL money for lunch on Mondays. Put money in a zip bag or envelope. Thank you to those who do this every time :^)


*Please join our PTA!!! We need YOU. Membership is $10.00.  We have two members from our class.
*We do SO appreciate your support of our Cookie Dough Fundraiser...  This money is very important in helping our school and classrooms.  Thank you!

STUDENT OF THE WEEK:  Raegan


Our story this week is “A Walk in the Desert."

Day One is Monday: Family Times and Spelling list is in Apple Binder. Read story at home and write Spelling words three times each. (Use notebook paper in the back of Apple Binder.)
**Reading Passage for one minute timed reading is in the last page of binder.  Parents initial daily.

Day Two is Tuesday: Read story at home and write Spelling words three times each.

Day Three is Wednesday: Read story at home and practice Spelling words.

Day Four is Thursday: Reading test today (Part online, part written). Practice for Spelling Test tomorrow!

Day Five is Friday : Spelling and Language tests today.



Please write Spelling words three times each every night at home! We will check words at school daily.
**There are two parts to doing homework: Doing the work at home, and returning it in the homework pocket of your apple binder.

**LANGUAGE/HANDWRITING
We will learn how to read and write statements and questions. Students are learning to use their best handwriting.  Keep working on that excellent handwriting!

**MATH
 This week we are learning more about sums through 18.  Students will practice "doubles plus 1" facts. Check apple binder for homework this week. You must learn addition facts! Use addition flash cards, games and computer activities to reinforce facts. *The best one out of nine fact drills will be counted as a math grade.

**SOCIAL SCIENCE
Students will begin studying landforms and bodies of water.  We are going to make a "Geography Dictionary" with meanings and illustrations.  Please do not lose this, as it is going to be used for a grade!
