We still have six students who have not sent their $5.00 to pay for Apple Binders. Please send that money so it may be credited to our class account.
Parent Report Day was Monday, Sept. 14th. I want to give a big "THANK YOU" to all parents who kept their appointments and came by to visit! It's always such a joy to know that we are working together as a team to benefit YOUR child! :)
Please help me with money sent to school! If you send a check, make sure your PHONE number, "E. Boyer," and your child's name is on every check. Thank you, parents, who send all money in an envelope or zip bag with names on them. I can't tell you how much that helps make my mornings go faster!
Can you help us? We need printer ink for our class... Would you be willing to send HP #61 Black ink? Thank you so much :)
**STUDENT OF THE WEEK:
*Please join our PTO!!! We need YOU. Membership is $10.00. Let's show all the other classes that we are the BEST when it comes to PTO participation :)
**READING/SPELLING Our story this week is “A Walk in the Desert." We will read this story, as well as other stories and poetry, to reinforce the skill for this week. Read the story at home this week. See the "Homework" letter for this week. Please practice Spelling words AND SENTENCES every night at home! We will check words at school daily. (The only night we do not write Spelling words is Wednesday night... That is up to parents!) Spelling test will be on FRIDAY.
**There are two parts to doing homework: Doing the work at home, and returning it in the homework pocket of your apple binder.
**LANGUAGE/HANDWRITING
We have learned that sentences MUST have a capital letter at the beginning and correct punctuation at the end. We will learn about declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, and imperative sentences this week. Our new subject for this week will be collective nouns. These nouns name "groups" of people, things, and animals. For example: a library of books, a herd of cow, a gaggle of geese, and a school of fish. Students are learning to use their best handwriting. We will write our first and last name and the date on our papers. I am so proud of your effort!
