NEWS FOR PARENTS~~~~~

***Don't forget to send $5.00 for your Apple Binder AND $10.00 for class shirt! 

Picture Day is Tuesday!  

No School Monday, September 7th :)
 

Please send money in an envelope or zip bag with your child's name on it.  

I will send a note to you if we are still missing headphones from your child.  Students may not enjoy computer games or 

Also, please read your weekly "Homework Schedule" page.  Students must follow this plan all week and complete assigned homework activities.

**READING/SPELLING  Our story this week is “Henry and Mudge."  We will read this story, as well as other stories and poetry, to reinforce the skill for this week.  Read "Henry and Mudge" at home this week.  See the "Homework" letter for this week.  Please practice Spelling words AND SENTENCES every night at home! We will check words at school daily.  (The only night we do not write Spelling words is Wednesday night... That is up to parents!) Spelling test will be on FRIDAY.

**There are two parts to doing homework: Doing the work at home, and returning it in the homework pocket of your apple binder. 
 
**LANGUAGE/HANDWRITING
We have learned that sentences MUST have a capital letter at the beginning and correct punctuation at the end.  We will learn about exclamatory and imperative sentences this week. Students are learning to use their best handwriting. We will write our first and last name and the date on our papers. I am so proud of your effort! 

**MATH
Mountain Math, Addition Facts. We are learning about odd/even numbers and place value. **Use addition flash cards, games and computer activities to reinforce addition facts. 

**SOCIAL SCIENCE
We will learn about our solar system this week.  "My Very Energetic Mom Just Served Us Nachos" is the way to remember the order of our planets!
