CES Seuss Character/Book
Costume Ideas—
(in case you
need one…)
As
the Seuss days have unfolded, some simple costume ideas have come to mind for
any who need one. We can't wait to see what characters will descend upon the
CES parade this Friday (8:15 A.M.), but if you need something different and
quick, what about...
*Mr. Brown--dressed
head to toe in brown, from Mr. Brown
Can Moo, Can You?, paint/marker mustache optional...
*Cat in the Hat--dressed only in black/white...maybe a red
paper bowtie and a few magic marker or facepaint whiskers...striped hat...
*From I Can Lick 30 Tigers Today---any
kind of "tough", wrestling/camouflage attire
*From Great Day for Up/I Am Not Going to Get
Up Today--pajamas/robe, repeat of Tuesday. Who doesn't love two days of
wearing PJ's to school?
*Walking in
"fancy clothes", pulling a wagon full of stuffed animals behind...If I Ran the Zoo/Circus
*Ten Apples Up on Top--brown pants/green or red
shirt...construction paper hat with ten apples reaching high into the sky...
*The 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins--safety-pin hats all
over your child's clothes
*Oh the Places You'll Go--child wrapped in road maps or
something similar
*Oh the Things You Can Think--anything, the crazier the
better, goes on this one. What is the most "nutball" way you could
dress/paint your face/walk? What are the oddest things you could carry?
TIP: Pin a sign with the name of your book or character to
your little one's back. That way, watchers can try to guess the
costume/character and check to see if they're right as the parade progresses.
The most important thing: just have FUN and make memories together!
