**CLASSROOM NEEDS: Teachers will no longer be able to purchase printer ink cartridge refills. Please keep our class in mind, as we will need HP #94 - Black... You have already been so very generous!

Day Two is Tuesday: Read story at home and write Spelling words three times each.
Day Three is Wednesday: Read story at home.
Day Four is Thursday: Reading test today (Part online, part written). Practice for Spelling Test tomorrow!
Day Five is Friday: Spelling and Language tests today.
Please write Spelling words three times each every night at home! We will check words at school daily. (The only night we do not write Spelling words is Wednesday night... That is up to parents!)
**There are two parts to doing homework: Doing the work at home, and returning it in the homework pocket of your apple binder.
**LANGUAGE/HANDWRITING
We will learn to identify and write good sentences this week.
Students are learning to use their best handwriting. We will write our first and last name and the date on our papers. I am so proud of your effort!
**MATH
We are learning how to compute and solve problems with sums through 18. Students will have homework this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. You must learn addition facts! You may make copies of the addition fact sheet I sent home last week. Do two rows each night, timed for one minute. We will practice each day in class. The addition drill will be given on Thursday. Use addition flash cards, games and computer activities to reinforce facts.
**SOCIAL SCIENCE
We have spent the last week learning about "Manners of the Heart." We know that we should have an attitude of the heart that is self-giving, not self-serving. This week our topics include "Brothers and Sisters," "Friends," and "Play By the Rules." There is no such thing as a "little white lie..." You either tell the truth or you do not. Next week begins our study of the Solar System!
